We’re confident that this SIM-only deal from Three is the absolute best we’re going to see over the Black Friday period. Every year without fail the mobile network launches an astonishing selection of unlimited data SIM-only plans, and this year is no exception: right now, you can nab a contract SIM with unlimited data, calls and

texts (plus assorted Three perks) for just £16 per month. That’s unbelievably cheap. For reference, Three’s unlimited data SIM is usually £20 per month, which is by all accounts a bit of a bargain; and although last year, Three offered that unlimited SIM at half price for the first six months, the offer only applied to the 24-month contract. This time, you’re getting 12 months at £16 per month, giving you maximum freedom at a ludicrously low price. Buy now from Three Let’s do a bit of a comparison. Shopping around, we found that Vodafone offered a similar SIM-only plan for £24 per month – but this plan is capped at a max download speed of 2Mbits/sec. O2, meanwhile, charges £35 per month for its unlimited SIM-only contract, while even Tesco Mobile charges between £22 and £30 per month depending on the length of the contract – and it doesn’t offer unlimited calls/texts alongside the data.  See related

Three's Go Roam feature allows you to use your unlimited data contract abroad in around 71 countries at no additional cost, while the Personal Hotspot function lets you use your phone as portable Wi-Fi (although we're not quite sure why this is a distinct feature as most smartphones already facilitate this).

Then there’s the fact that your SIM is 5G-ready at no extra cost: this contract is an excellent way to future-proof without paying more. Of course, we’d urge you to make sure Three’s coverage is good in your local area before you commit. While we love the prices offered by Three, the network does need to work on its overall performance – we note in our full review that coverage is good but speeds sometimes lag behind the top dogs EE and Vodafone.  We have no hesitation recommending Three to anyone looking for a cheaper way to enjoy unlimited data, though – particularly when the savings are this immense.
